FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Green – A New Shade in Telluride’s Colorful History

December 15, 2015 – TELLURIDE, CO- If it was gold that first attracted prospectors to the tiny mountain town of Telluride,in southwest Colorado, and snow the second substance that drew powder enthusiasts from around the world, today there’s a new shade in town- and this one, is green. Telluride Green Tours LLC, opened for business October15, 2014, and is taking folks on a tour that sheds light on the often-hazy cloud surrounding Colorado’s newly legal Cannabis scene.

True to proper Colorado ski-town form, Telluride has historically embraced most things liberal, stemming from the “long hairs” that moved to Telluride in the 1970’s. Despite the often laid back attitude on marijuana consumption in Telluride, one thing has changed, it’s now legal. On January 1, 2014, the sale and consumption of recreational marijuana was legalized in Colorado, and with it came a four new cannabis dispensaries in the town of Telluride, seemingly overnight- a rather large ratio for a town with a year round population of only 2,500. Regardless of personal feelings about legalizing marijuana, the bottom line is, it’s legal, and in order to shed some light on the often-hazy subject, local entrepreneur Andrew Dolese, launched Telluride Green Tours on October 15, 2014 as the first marijuana themed tour company in Telluride.

Tours run seven days a week, starting at the base of the Gondola Plaza on Telluride’s town side, at 3:30pm. The tour lasts approximately two hours, as guests are led from dispensary to dispensary by a local guide, learning about the nuances of each cannabis shop and learning colorful stories of Telluride wild past. By the end of the tour, participants will leave with a better understanding of the legalization process, strain differences, edibles and responsible consumption practices and ultimately, which type of recreational marijuana is right for them. Tour participants finish the tour at a local happy hour – with time to debrief on what they have learned and discuss how they are going to use their new found purchases.

“I never knew I would enjoy a tour like this,” said Chris from Atlanta. “I haven’t smokedpot for more than twenty years, but after joining the tour, I can’t wait to try it. I feel like I have a better understanding of what I am looking for in recreational marijuana and I learned a ton about the history of Telluride. It was a truly fun experience and one I would highly recommend. ”
“Wow!, is all I can say after taking the Telluride Green Tour. Not only did I learn a ton about the Colorado Cannabis market but I also had a blast with my fellow Tour participants who were from all over the country. Andrew and his guides were extremely knowledgeable about Telluride’s history and their candor in explaining all about legal marijuana truly showed their passion for the industry. I can’t wait to come back to Telluride and take friends on the Telluride Green Tour!” Jasmine from NYC

Tour participants are allowed to purchase marijuana during the tour and receive special discounts available only to Telluride Green Tours. Knowledgeable “Bud tenders” are there to answer your questions at each of the dispensaries we visit and help educate you so no need to worry about being left in the dark.

In addition to strolling through Telluride’s bustling mining neighborhoods, past the site of Butch Cassidy’s first bank robbery to alleyways where brothel doors opened and closed like popcorn, Telluride Green Tours aims to lead guests of all experience levels with marijuana consumption on a journey they’ll never forget. Even if not a puff of marijuana is consumed, guests will revel in taking part in a new moment of Telluride’s history, an especially colorful one.
